That Other Flock Start Here (The Index)

Here’s where to find the episodes you’ve missed.

That Other Flock is serial fiction so you might have missed an episode.

Here’s where you can catch up.

Episode 1: “Can’t Understand” This is the pilot and where things started. You’ll get to know a bit about the characters and get a sense of where this is going.

Episode 2: “Dead Dad” In all candor, this is the episode I dislike the most. There’s important plot reveals and vital character development…but it's not my favorite. It won’t have an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score. If you skip this one, you’ll miss out on some info but you’ll be OK.

Episode 3: “Bump in the Night” So far this episode has gotten the most comments privately (please leave comments on Substack, even criticisms). This episode was the turning point for me (and a couple of characters). Things are gonna get real.

Episode 4: “Rich Beats Poor” We get a reveal about one of the characters that’s a bit of a surprise. Relationships change and connections grow for everyone but our narrator.

Episode 5: “Tithe Sunday” The “Flock” has quite a chat about giving and the way churches talk about giving. In addition to chowing down on donuts, our characters reveal lotto results and, maybe, how God sees them.

Episode 6: “Plot Twist” Yet another identity is revealed and it’s a bit of a twist. We discover the dark and difficult past one of the “donut crowd.” As they say on Netflix, things “take a turn.”

Episode 7: “Breakfast Burrito Blessings” A guest joins the Flock and one member is absent. We learn about how various members of the Flock view worship leaders and God’s promises.

Episode 8: “The Problematic Bun” One of the flock drops a big reveal on the group and it’s gets pretty spicy. There’s name calling, bonding, and harsh words. Just the usual for this flock.

Episode 9: “Eve of Destruction” Talk about your big reveals…the plot twists again and twists aren’t very comfortable for the donut gang. We learn even more about some of a character’s background.

Episode 10: “Brimstone and Burritos” Someone asks a question about Jesus that’s probably going to surprise you, it certainly surprised the flock. But…it is a thought provoking and mind twisting question.

Episode 11: “Trip Hazard” An embarrassing encounter at work turns into a life-shaping event for one of the flock. How can someone recover from such a painful, shaming fall?

Episode 12: “Funeral Candle” One of the most uncomfortable parts of life is death. I guess it had to happen eventually, but we watch the flock try to find their way through a painful, unexpected departure.

Episode 13: “F-ing Shiny People” The flock has a lot to overcome, but luckily they have some t-shirt “wisdom” to help. The funeral still weighs heavy on them. And we find what’s really going on in the kitchen.

Episode 14: “The 17 Deadly Sins” The gang names the sins and counts them out. They wade into the deep water of sin management and what this life with God is really all about.

Episode 15: “Falling Up” In this last episode of Season 1, we meet another major player who reveals even more of what’s happening. Plus, we get a glimpse of what might happen in Season 2. Hang onto your donuts!

Season 2: “Email Prologue” We learn something about what’s going on in the church that the Flock attends…and we learn about a big personality!

Season 2:Ep 1: “Only Pregnancy Fans” Season 2 begins with some spice…in every way! The characters dive headfirst into the hidden desires and ethical quagmires of our world.

Season 2:Ep 2: “Behind the 8 Ball” Yet another secret gets revealed, the ethics debate continues, and a plot is hatched.
